So I was shopping online for an in-dash DVD/Nav unit.  I ran across Bear mountain Audio.  Their in-dash unit had a ton of features and looked very attractive.  Received the unit, installed it, decided immediately I was not happy with the product.  The Nav software is miserable to operate as well and the navigation itself.  instead of turning left and the next major intersection he unit will try and route you through a residential neighborhood.  One time it took me to my friends back yard which was not the street his address is on.  I contacted the Owner John about a refund he said "No Refunds".  A few weeks later the LCD screen started showing black spots.  Contacted John about a repair.  Sent him the unit for repair.  He immediately returned the unit with a new screen.  About 2 months after that the screen started flashing and unit went up in smoke.  I pulled the cover just to look and you could see the burned IC chip inside.  I returned the unit again.  He then started accusing me a installing it wrong.  I explained to him that every unit has been a different issue.  I would agree if it were the same problem over and over again, but it has been something different every time.  A few weeks later the GPS navigation failed to load.  This came at a really bad time, I was in Utah and depending on the unit to get me where I was going.  Needless to say I was out of luck.  I contacted John again, he said there was a problem with the GPS chip and to send it back for repair.  About a week and half later I had another radio.  The unit worked great for a few weeks.  We were heading out of town and the wife wanted to watch a movie.  Stopped to get a movie for her and the unit displayed "Not Formatted for this region".  I was able to get around this and get the movie to play.  I decided at this time it was not worth returning since I had found a work around to make the video play.  A few weeks later we were heading out again and went to get a movie.  Same format problem, but this time about 20 minutes into the movie the player started skipping and stopping.  Tried another movie same problem.  When I returned home I tried a movie that I had played before; same thing.  So another call to John and he said to return the unit again for repair.  I waited two weeks to get my unit back it never returned.  I have contacted him many times trying to find out a status on my unit.  It has been over a month (now June 2 2009).  He has stopped taken my calls, and will not return my calls.  I probably left him 20 msg's or more.  I finally found another phone number and email address for him.  I contacted him at his email address and he responded the next day that his technician was working on it.  Well I was leaving in a week for a 4000 mile trip and really wanted my Nav unit back.  I asked him to please send me a new unit immediately.  No response.  To this day he still will not respond.  I have the UPS tracking number that he received and signed for the unit.  Six weeks later I still have not received my unit back.  This guy is a crook and thief.

Many times during the past 1.5 years returning the unit a total of 5 times I have asked him for a refund.  He will not refund my money.  Horrible business practice.
